Charlie Blackwood (Gloucestershire and Warwickshire, UK) is a new emerging singer, song writer and guitarist. His energetic performances and fresh style, often described as having a 'pop/country vibe', have got him noticed on the local scene, national festivals and more recently with BBC Music Introducing.
His original songs are achieving much interest and acclaim. They are featured on his EPs:
Charlie has been singing to large audiences from a very early age. After successful auditions in his early teens, Charlie joined a boy band. They quickly made an impact, winning a competition with Free Radio and and then going on to gig at the Wireless Festival and the finals of Open Mic UK. This was followed by a support slot on a UK tour.
In 2016, Charlie took the decision to go solo, to develop his crisp, original style, and to write and sing his own songs. Charlie's time as a solo artist has been very busy and productive. His unique sound, lively performances and professionalism, resulted in him being invited as a supporting act for another UK tour. He has recently performed at Folk On The Water Festival across Warwickshire, Standon Calling Festival (Autumn Shift Stage), Foodies Festival Birmingham, Northamptonshire's Rushfest, Rockin' Roadrunner Festival, The Jam House (Birmingham), The Cheltenham Literary Festival and The Frog and Fiddle.
More recently, his songs have been picked up and played by Brody Swain on his Coventry and Warwickshire BBC Music Introducing show.
Charlie is really looking forward to this year: launching his songs, writing and releasing more and performing his originals live at festivals.
